Winter weekends are held in Patterdale, the Lake District and four or five-
Your instructor for that time will be a qualified Scottish winter mountain leader and will concentrate on aspects of winter mountaineering such as navigation, snow structure, avalanche awareness, crampon and ice axe techniques and basic rope work and if your really nice to him, he’ll show you how to dig a snow hole.
The accommodation we organize are hostels but if you require a bed and breakfast or hotel, let us know and we will arrange it. After all, there is nothing more satisfying than putting your feet up in front of a roaring fire with a wee dram in your hand after a long day on the hill.
We can provide most safety equipment, however, crampons and axes are a very personal piece of equipment so we don’t supply them. Nor do we supply the whiskey!
